"The International Geneva has a significant role to play in in fostering environmental sustainability" insisted the UNOG Director General, the Basel Convention Executive Secretary and the UN Environment Europe Office acting Director, in a letter sent to all heads of United Nations entities and partner organizations in Geneva, inviting them in working on reducing plastic wastes and in promoting plastic-free meetings throughout Geneva.
The UN is calling on people everywhere to take concrete steps to #BeatPlasticPollution in their own lives. Various UN organizations in Geneva have already started to change their consumption patterns and to decrease the consumption of single-use plastics in their premises.
